About the event

This will be a special dissection class on sharks; safety is our first concern, so students will wear goggles and gloves. Educator John MacLaren will fascinate participants with his knowledge of the inner structures of these creatures of The Deep. Study the outside first, then move to the underside; dissect a dogfish shark to examine its inner organs. Other specimens will include a stingray, starfish, and squid. Record your observations and drawings in your lab journal. Many marine animal specimens, models and reference books will be available for extra research. Make a shark tooth necklace, and take home a goody bag of theme-related prizes.
